Android 17, also known as Lapis before his cybernetic enhancements, is a character introduced in the Dragon Ball series. His first appearance is in the animated series Dragon Ball Z.
Initially conceived as an antagonist, Android 17 was created by Dr. Gero (Android 20) to kill Goku. He and his twin sister, Android 18, are powerful cyborgs with near limitless energy due to their power reactor cores.
In Dragon Ball Super, Android 17 undergoes significant character development. He is portrayed as a dedicated park ranger protecting wildlife on a remote island. His increased power level, attributed to years of training and further modifications, makes him a valuable asset to the Z Fighters during the Tournament of Power.
